Ida May Kemper was born in 1876 to Dr. Granville Garnett Kemper and wife, Mary Frances (Caruthers) Kemper.  Ida's grandmother was Mary M. Wyatt of Russell County, Virginia, who was the sister of two Wyatt men then living in Saint Jo - Charles William Wyatt and James Morgan Wyatt.

Little Ida died in 1877 when she was less than two years old and was buried in Head of Elm Cemetery in St. Jo where her great-aunt and cousin were buried in 1874 and her great-uncle, Charles Wyatt, was buried in the year after Ida died.  Ida's mother Fannie Kemper, also died the second year after Ida died.
